Injured deer in my yard - May 14,

Now, I am a certified Backyard Habitat, and I really don't mind deer
coming to visit, but this one is injured. So sad. NO ONE can help. The
police said they don't pick up wild animals. The Trailside Museum said
they don't go on private property. What to do???? I really don't mind
that it ate all my rose buds and munched the hosta. I worry because it
looks like someone shot it. It walks stiffly and slowly.
The Trailside man said don't give it water. The police said if it goes
in the front yard because I'm across from the school, it will be a
public nuisance & they'll come and shoot it. WHAT TO DO??? I'm 5
blocks away from the forest preserves where it usually lives. Poor
thing!!!!
